£199 buys the Working Diagnosis - the plan for your version of this.
Building and running it starts from £399/month.
I'll say this plainly, because it matters: I'm not pitching AI website design. Vibe-coding tools are already squeezing the low end of that market, and I'm not interested in adding to that pressure - or in competing with agencies whose actual craft is design.
What I do instead sits upstream of that - the research most projects skip because there's rarely time for it once a client's signed. Competitor analysis, positioning, who the client should actually be speaking to. The homework, not the design.
The design, the build, the client relationship - all of that stays entirely yours. Here's what "the research" actually looks like.
Who else is in this client's market, and what they're doing.
Who the client should be speaking to - not just who they think.
Positioning and gaps, an actual starting point for the design.
1. Research the competitors. The agent looks at who else is operating in a client's market - what they're saying, what they're missing, where the gaps are.
2. Research the actual audience. Not just who a client thinks they're selling to, but who's actually likely to buy - and what they respond to.
3. Draft the brief. Positioning, gaps, an honest read of where the client sits against their competitors - handed to you as a starting point, not a finished plan.
What's useful, what isn't - your call.
Or don't. It's an input, not an instruction.
The agent never touches Figma, code, or a client conversation.
4. You review the brief. It's handed over as raw research and a read on positioning - what's useful is entirely your judgement.
5. You take it into the design process, or don't. It's an input to your process, not a replacement for any part of it.
6. Design, build, and the client relationship stay yours. Always. The agent doesn't open a design file, write a line of front-end code, or speak to your client directly.
The line here is drawn on purpose, not out of caution. Design is a craft - taste, judgement, a feel for a client's brand - and that's not something an agent should be anywhere near. Research is different: it's legwork, and legwork is exactly the kind of thing that's worth automating so there's more time left for the part that actually needs a person with an eye for design.
Worth saying plainly: this is shown as a simple version. The same pattern can be built simple or pushed a lot further - more sources it watches, more it can draft, more it checks before handing back to you - depending on what your business actually needs.
The Working Diagnosis buys the plan for your version of this - not the build itself. The report is yours to keep either way. If we go further, the £199 is credited off the first invoice.
If you'd rather start a project with the research already done, send a note. I reply myself, usually within a working day. We'll work out whether this is worth doing for your business. Happy to talk after 6pm or at a weekend if that works better - within reason, I'll fit round you.
