I built a free course, Chat AI, Properly Explained, that teaches you how to use chat AI properly for your business. Ten steps, twenty minutes, no sign-up form, no email address collected, nothing to download first. Genuinely free, not a "free" with a lead-capture form bolted onto the end of it. Then I sat back and thought, hang on, doesn't giving it away undercut the bit where people actually pay me?
Sounds like bad business. It isn't. Here's the actual thinking.
If this were a lead magnet, the model would be: give away most of the value, keep a bit locked behind a form, then chase everyone who filled it in. That's not what happens here. No list being built, no follow-up sequence, nothing sold to you at the end of step ten, and no obligation to ever come back. Work through all ten steps and you'll get better results out of AI, full stop, whether I ever hear from you again or not. Genuinely don't care if you engage me afterwards. Learn it, use it, fill your boots. That was the entire point of building it.
None of it is secret. Everything in the course exists somewhere on the internet already, free, if you've got the patience to hunt it down and piece it together yourself. What I did was curate it into one simple, ten-step process you can work through in twenty minutes. That's the actual product. Not the information, the shortcut.
So why not charge for the shortcut? Because I'm an advocate for this stuff, genuinely. I want people to embrace the technology, not be scared of it. If working through this helps you get better results from AI and get past a bit of curiosity or a bit of fear, that's it. That's the whole reason it exists. No other reason. I genuinely want to help.
Three reasons, briefly, in the order they matter to me. Most of what's wrong with how small businesses use AI isn't a tooling problem, it's a habits problem, and this fixes it in twenty minutes rather than behind a phone call. I'm eventually asking business owners to trust me with something bigger, an honest look at where AI could remove friction from their working day, and nobody hands that kind of trust to a stranger who opens with an invoice. And I'll admit the last reason is a bit selfish: watching someone go from "AI's a gimmick" to actually using it well is the best part of this job. I'd run this course for free even if it brought in precisely zero enquiries.
If you finish it and never think about me or this site again, that's a win as far as I'm concerned. This one isn't angling for anything.
Sounds sensible. Mostly, it is.
Ready to work through it? Ten steps, twenty minutes, still no sign-up.
